Live View
Q: How do I turn on live view?
A: You can't.
The D40/x is a DSLR, and, like most DSLRs (of its generation), it doesn't have a live view function. Viewing and focusing is done through the viewfinder. Dont' worry — most folks find they prefer a real viewfinder once they get used to it.
